RAPPER EVE JEFFERS PLEADS NO CONTEST

Eve was spared jail after pleading no-contest to drink driving yesterday. The rapper-and-actress did not attend the Los Angeles court hearing but her attorney Blair Berk entered the plea and said she admitted to driving with a.08 percent blood alcohol level or higher when she crashed her car on April 26. Berk said: "She's a very gifted artist and she is treating this with appropriate seriousness."As part of the plea bargain the prosecution dropped two other charges of driving impaired and driving without proof of insurance.The 28-year-old - real name Eve Jeffers - must stay sober for 45 days and wear an alcohol-monitoring device on her ankle during that time. Clergy led New York City's gay pride parade, lending their moral authority to an event that also featured drag queens, motorcycle-riding lesbians and samba dancers. Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum, who heads a gay synagogue, and the Reverend Troy Perry, founder of the Metropolitan Community Church, were the parade's grand marshals. In Kleinbaum's words, "Those who use religion to advocate an anti-gay agenda, I believe, are blaspheming God's name." Buddhists carried a gay pride sign that said "Don't Block Your Buddha." Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff told the lawyers he was concerned about a clause in Anna Nicole's will disinheriting any children born after her son, Daniel, who died last September three days after Dannielynn was born.The model died in February of an accidental overdose leaving a will dated July 2001 which named Daniel as sole benefactor.The will stated: "I have intentionally omitted to provide for other heirs, including future spouses and children and other descendants now living and those hereafter born or adopted."One of Anna Nicole's attorneys, Bruce Ross, said he'll prove at future hearings that the clause is "extraordinary and improperly drafted" and should not stand. Ross promised to send copy of the court documents to Anna Nicole's mother Virgie Arthur. He said: "Judges are under orders to get things moving. Nothing extraordinary happened. The case had been set for trial on the 25th and I'm going on vacation on the 28th. He just said no further continuances without good cause. He vacated the trial and set a new date."When asked if Nicole may consider a plea agreement to avoid a trial, Holley replied: "Just because it is set for trial that does not mean we are going to trial. We are still discussing things and we are still looking at the case."Nicole could be jailed for up to a year if she is found guilty because of a previous DUI conviction from 2003.The 25-year-old, who pleaded not guilty at a preliminary hearing, recently revealed she is terrified of going to jail. Sizemore earlier acknowledged he had violated probation when arrested in May in Bakersfield, California, 169 kilometres north of Los Angeles, on seven drug-related charges. Sizemore, who has been in jail since June 5 when he surrendered to authorities after a warrant for his arrest was issued, could face up to 16 months behind bars for the offense. Sizemore was given probation and a 16-month suspended sentence after pleading no contest to possession of methamphetamine's in February last year. Sizemore, whose other credits include 'Heat,' 'Natural Born Killers' and 'True Romance,' has had several brushes with the law in recent years.In 2003 he was convicted of misdemeanor abuse charges against ex-girlfriend and infamous 'Hollywood Madam' Heidi Fleiss. We feel we need to take a united stand. The circus will resume when she exits jail."The pamphlet urges residents to contact the police and their city councilman. Hauck and Goursaud also say they are considering hiring a lawyer. Los Angeles City Councilman Jack Weiss' media liaison officer Lisa Hansen told Us Weekly magazine: "When Ms. Hilton was released we had more than 50 formal complaints filed about the helicopter noise and the street being too narrow and crowded with people."At this time the councilman is working to develop a specific plan to reduce the impact once Ms. Hilton is out. This will be out in the next week or so."Unfortunately the biggest complaint is the helicopters and it looks at this point there is little we can do about them. We are looking at ensuring access to the neighborhood just for the residents. At this point, we are trying to see how we can keep the street open and minimise the crowds to help out the residents. Britney Spears threatened to sue a Florida radio station unless they removed billboards of her with a shaven head.Lawyers for the 'Toxic' singer told WFLZ radio to take down adverts featuring three pictures of the 26-year-old singer bald and snarling.The singer's legal team claim images of Britney can only be used for promotional purposes with her consent. A letter was sent to station owners Clear Channel Communications from law firm Lavely and Singer dated June 14. It read: "Clear Channel was already exposed to substantial liability for its offensive, unauthorised commercial exploitation of my client's photograph on the billboards."Once again, we demand the immediate removal of the billboards, confirmed by documentary evidence and verified under penalty of perjury."The pictures were taken as she attacked a photographer's car with an umbrella, the night before she entered Malibu's Promises rehab facility.The billboards featured three identical pictures of the singer next to the radio station's logo and a picture of talk show host Todd Schnitt. ROBERT DE NIRO’s attempt to have a lawsuit against him thrown out of court has been refused.The Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company filed suit against De Niro in California last year, accusing the actor of fraud and deceit around the time of his 2003 cancer diagnosis.The Fireman’s Fund paid Fox studios $1.87 million (£935,000) after De Niro was forced to delay filming of Hide And Seek so he could receive treatment for prostate cancer. Days before his diagnosis, De Niro signed an insurance certificate, declaring he had never been "diagnosed with or treated for a disorder of (among other things) the prostate glands". The Fireman’s Fund have accused De Niro of misrepresenting his health when he signed the certificate on October 13, 2003. Last month De Niro filed an application to dismiss the suit, insisting he was unaware he had cancer until October 15, 2003, although he had undergone a biopsy on October 10th. However, on Monday U.S. District Judge Manuel Real denied De Niro’s motion. A court hearing has been scheduled for July 2nd.
