KIEFER SUTHERLAND COOKS FOR INMATES

24 star Kiefer Sutherland is receiving no special treatment in jail, as he serves a 48-day jail sentence for drink-driving. He’s been spending his days cooking for inmates and washing dirty jailhouse sheets. The actor checked into California’s Glendale City Jail earlier this month and will spend his upcoming birthday along with Christmas and New Year locked behind bars. According to the National Enquirer, the actor, who turns 41 this Friday has been put to work in the laundry and kitchen, serving up food and cleaning the soiled sheets of jailed homeless people. Jail spokesman Sergeant Tom Lorenz says, "We pick up street people, who then sleep on bunks in our jail. Kiefer Sutherland has to wash their bedding."He needs to wear rubber gloves for the job, it’s not a pretty sight. Because it’s such a messy job and we allow Sutherland to shower twice a day."Then he prepares and serves meals to the prisoners." Sutherland was handed the sentence for drink-driving and violating probation in September. He is due for release in January.
