BRITNEY SPEARS ORDERED TO PAY LAWYER
Britney Spears has been ordered to pay Kevin Federline's legal fees in their custody battle. Superior Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon ordered the 'Gimme More' singer to pay $120,000 towards the $154,500 her ex-husband owes to his lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan (right). Commissioner Gordon made the ruling after considering several factors including "the notable disparity between the parties' income."Last week, court documents revealed Britney earns $737,868 a month, while Kevin receives $20,000 a month in spousal support and $15,000 in child support payments from the 25-year-old singer.Britney spends $102,000 a month on entertainment - going out, gifts and vacations - $16,000 on her wardrobe, almost $50,000 on her mortgage, $10,000 on utility bills and just $6,000 on child care.On October 10, Kevin's lawyer Kaplan requested $160,000 for fees.California law states that either party has access to legal representation to preserve their rights, even if that means one person must pay the other's lawyer.Kaplan said: "We've already incurred more fees above the $164,000 in the document, and we expect we will be incurring significant other fees going into the trial."I intend to make further fee orders up to the date of the trial."Britney and Kevin are fighting for custody of sons Sean Preston, two and 16-month-old Jayden James. Kevin currently has full temporary custody, while Britney has three visits with the boys a week, including one overnight visit, on condition she takes regular drug tests and parenting lessons.
