O.J. Simpson has been charged with 10 offences following his arrest for an alleged armed robbery on Sunday. The former American football star could face life in prison if found guilty of the charges, which include kidnapping, suspicion of assault and robbery with a deadly weapon. Simpson - who is currently being detained at the Clark County Detention Centre - will appear in court later today. The 60-year-old was arrested in Las Vegas on Sunday after he tried to forcefully reclaim his own sports memorabilia from official dealers at a hotel room in Las Vegas' Palace Station Hotel and Casino.Upon his arrest, Simpson was booked on two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two of assault with a deadly weapon and one of conspiracy to commit burglary.Simpson denies using any firearms, and says it was merely a "confrontation"to get the memorabilia, which included his Hall of Fame certificate, autographed sports collectibles, a video of his first wedding and a photograph of him with former FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. Simpson's attorney Yale Galanter said the star is determined to clear his name. He said: "We believe this is an extremely defensible case based on conflicting witness statements, flip-flopping by witnesses and witnesses making deals with the government to flip."Two other men, Clarence Stewart and Walter Alexander, have also been questioned in conjunction with the incident.Police are still looking for three other suspects.In 1995, Simpson - who starred in the 'Naked Gun' trilogy - was cleared of murdering his wife Nicole and her lover but was later held responsible in a $40 million civil hearing.
