BRITNEY SPEARS FOURTH OF JULY PLANS
Britney Spears plans to snub her family's Fourth of July barbecue. The 'Toxic' singer's mother Lynne has invited her daughter to the family's Independence Day celebrations at their home in Kentwood, Louisiana, later this week in a bid to try and heal their rift. However, when asked if she would be leaving Los Angeles to attend the gathering, Britney told People magazine yesterday: "I don't know.I like it here."When quizzed further about whether she and her mother would be able to overcome their differences, the 25-year-old star added: "I'm praying for her right now. I hope she gets all the help she needs. In time, who knows what will happen?"Britney was speaking outside Bel Air's Sushi House Unico, where she had dined alone on edamame beans and coffee. Lynne - who last week looked distressed when her estranged daughter personally handed her what were believed to be legal papers - said: "Everything is going to be fine."I've got a strong family, and everything is going to be OK."She also admitted she was "hopeful" Britney would bring her sons, 22-month old Sean Preston and nine-month-old Jayden James, to the Fourth of July party. But an inside source claims Lynne is devastated about the state of her relationship with her eldest daughter. The source said: "Lynne has cried her heart out over the trouble between her and Britney."She is broken-hearted. She wants her baby to be OK and to bring her grandchildren home to Kentwood and raise them in a normal environment."
