The Play That Goes Wrong The producers of Broadway’s longest running comedy, The Play That Goes Wrong, announced today that the Tony Award-winning production will close on Sunday, August 26, 2018 prior to the launch of the National Tour opening in Pittsburgh, PA in September. Additional tour cities, dates, and casting will be announced at a later date. The producers of The Play That Goes Wrong, one of the longest running plays in recent Broadway history, want to take joy and laughter beyond New York City across America. The producers remarked “having made audiences weep with laughter in New York, we feel that it is our most solemn duty to make them cry with laughter all the way across America.” The Play That Goes Wrong began performances on Broadway March 9 and officially opened on April 2, 2017 at The Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45 Street).
