NEW YORK CENTER FOR CHILDREN ANNUAL SPRING CELEBRATION @ PENINSULA HOTEL

The NYCC celebrated 28 years of helping New York City's children heal from abuse.  The event was generously hosted by The Peninsula New York, a treasured partner of NYCC since 2009.  This year's Spring Celebration focused on the important role of art in helping children heal and raised over $150,000 for NYCC's vital services.    Olga Ferrara Founded in 1995, NYCC provides trauma focused therapy services to children who have experienced physical and sexual abuse, for as long as their healing requires. NYCC's services to children and families are free of charge and NYCC relies on donations to ensure it is able to provide these services.   The New York Center For Children The New York Center for Children Board, Junior Board, Staff, and Volunteers, were honored to participate in the New York Stock Exchange Opening Bell Ceremony on April 3, 2023.  It raised attention to the need for child abuse prevention and the life-changing, therapy services provided by the Center to help children heal from abuse.   April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. The New York Center for Children is raising awareness about the prevalence of child abuse and the importance of working together to keep children safe. One in 5 children experience abuse or neglect before age 18. NYCC was proud to kick off Child Abuse Prevention month by ringing the opening bell to bring awareness to our vital mission of healing and preventing child abuse. NEW YORK CENTER FOR CHILDREN FUNDRAISER 'FLAMENCO NIGHTS'

  Lauren Vernon With Leda Nussbaum And Maribel Lieberman The New York Center for Children (NYCC) held their first NYC-area in-person fundraiser in 18 months with their  Flamenco Nights celebration at Ventanas at the Modern in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Hosted by Catherine Kassenoff, Lauren Vernon and Amy Bluestone, the event celebrated our caregivers after a tumultuous year. Guests enjoyed tropical cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, music and dancing under the stars, in Flamenco inspired style.  Ventanas, the American-Asian-Cuban restaurant by Restaurateur Alexander Duran of Son Cubano and culinary titan Chef David Burke, was the perfect setting for the magical evening, with its outdoor patio overlooking the iconic George Washington Bridge. The mood for the Flamenco Nights setting was in full swing as the DJ played Latin music throughout the evening. Jean Shafiroff Cyrus Vance Jr. Martin S. Foont The New York Center for Children (NYCC) hosted its 24th Annual Spring Celebration Benefit at The Peninsula New York in New York City. NYCC celebrated 24 years of helping the most vulnerable children achieve their full potential. The annual benefit helps raise funds for the Center’s work in healing, prevention and education. This year’s event featured a “The Magic of Hope” theme, which reflects the organization’s aim to bring about hope to victims of child abuse and help these children achieve their dreams. All of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the center. The event raised $200,000 toward the organization’s mission to support victims of child abuse and their families. Michele Herbert With Jean Shafiroff The New York Center for Children (NYCC) hosted its 21th Anniversary Spring Cocktail Reception at Clement Restaurant at the Peninsula Hotel in New York City. The NYCC celebrated over 20 years of helping the most disadvantaged children achieve their potential. The event featured a Live Auction where participants could win a customized Vespa. There was also a Silent Auction where guests bid on exquisite gifts and experiences. Timatha Kasten performed a musical tribute accompanied by a jazz trio honoring the memory of Broadway legend Marty Richards.
