EVELYN ALEXANDER WILDLIFE RESCUE CENTER CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY

  Kathleen Mulcahy And Jill Rappaport Jean Shafiroff The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons celebrated their 25th Anniversary with their signature GET WILD! Gala raising funds to contribute to their mission to rescue, rehabilitate and successfully release animals back into the wild across Eastern Long Island. This year has seen the volunteers and staff of the Center assist more than 1,800 animals in need, representing a record in the 25 years of the organization.  To commemorate the Silver anniversary the Center has also launched a new logo.   Zelda Penzel Leesa Rowland Pamela Dove And Henry Buhl Zelda Penzel was honored at this year's Gala, held at the Southampton Arts Center which was organized by event chairs Ingrid Edelman, Jane Gill, Missy Hargraves, and Lisa Baron Schenker.   Jean Shafiroff Jean Shafiroff With Shannon Lepre   Philanthropist, author and Television host Jean Shafiroff hosted a reception at her New York home to honor The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons and the start of their summer campaign culminating in the milestone 25th Annual Get Wild! Gala, to be held at the Southampton Art Center on Friday, August 1st, 2025. The private event brought together a sophisticated group of animal advocates and supporters of the charity to cheer the organization’s mission for wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and ultimately returning healed animals back to the wild. With a wealth of experience and a passion for wildlife conservation, Ms. Mulcahy is poised to lead the organization to new heights in its mission to rehabilitate and protect wildlife. Kathleen Mulcahy brings a diverse background to her role as Executive Director, with a proven track record in nonprofit management and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship. As Mayor of Sag Harbor, she created the first Environmental Advisory Committee in the history of the Village.   Her recent experience with Fighting Chance, a cancer support non-profit, and previous experience with Guild Hall of East Hampton, gives Kathleen in-depth knowledge of the non-profit landscape on the East End.
