TV LAND'S MOTHER'S DAY GOLDEN GIRLS MARATHON

**** TELEVISION **** The Golden Girls Trying to figure out how to spend your Mother’s Day? Well, TV Land has made that decision a little bit easier for you! TV Land’s “The Golden Girls” marathon pays tribute to the mother of all mothers, Sophia Petrillo (played by Estelle Getty), the very entertaining but tough-love mom to Dorothy (Bea Arthur). Tune in for the Mom-athon event this Sunday, May 11th from 7pm-10pm ET/PT. TV Land kicks off “The Golden Girls” marathon with “Mother’s Day,” an episode where the girls reminisce about past Mother’s Days as they wait for phone calls from their children. TV LAND DEBUTS THE GOLDEN GIRL MARATHON

**** CLASSIC TELEVISION **** Betty White TV Land will debut the Emmy® Award-winning comedy “The Golden Girls” on Saturday, March 16th. Marathons will launch on Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17, from 3-11pm, followed by a week-long primetime tribute to each of the characters. Then, fans take over the air! Viewers can go online now* and choose their favorite episodes on TV Land’s Facebook Page, then watch the results on Friday, March 22 from 7-10pm. After launch week, the show will settle into its regular timeslot of 7pm, Monday through Saturday, and 5pm on Sundays. **** THE WORLD MORNS GOLDEN GIRL RUE MCCLANAHAN **** Wedding Of Rue McClanahan And Morrow Wilson Rue McClanahan Old friend Rue McClanahan, the Emmy-winning actress who brought the sexually liberated Southern belle Blanche Devereaux to life on the hit television show "The Golden Girls," has died of a stroke. She was 76 years old. This is a very sad day in American television history and a very sad for us here at Times Square Gossip. Rue was a old time actress with old time values. She came from the days when stars were really stars and knew how to act like one. I was very lucky to have shot her wedding to actor Morrow Wilson on Christmas day at the famed Waldorf Astoria. Jack Klugman was there and Honeymooner Joyce (Trixie) Randolph as well as many more stars to help her celebrate.
