More than 80 participants enjoyed a spectacular day on the green to raise more than $200,000 for groundbreaking cancer research programs aimed at eradicating cancer and developing innovative and more effective treatments with less harmful side effects. And thanks to a partnership with The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research, all funds raised at the tournament will be matched, dollar for dollar. Sullivan The Fresh Meadow Country Club in Lake Success, NY was once again the scenic location for the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation’s (SWCRF) 40th Annual Golf Tournament. More than 80 participants enjoyed spectacular weather for a competitive round of golf, followed by a dinner reception. More than $200,000 was raised and will be invested in collaborative cancer research programs. Sadly, the incidence of cancer is increasing worldwide. It is estimated that 1.8 million Americans – or more than 4,900 every day – will receive a cancer diagnosis. In 2021, the SWCRF directed more than $2 million in donor-supported funds to fund a record 53 research scientists at some of the world’s leading research institutions. Honoree Ann Liguori And Scott Vallary The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) honored Ann Liguori, Host & Golf Correspondent for WFAN & CBS Sports Radio and Founder of the Ann Liguori Foundation and Ann Liguori Productions, at its 37th Annual Golf Tournament and Dinner at the scenic Fresh Meadow Country Club in Lake Success, NY. Funds raised by the event supported SWCRF cancer research programs, including the SWCRF Partnership for Aging and Cancer Research, which studies the genetic, metabolic, and environmental factors that promote increased cancer incidence among people as they age. More than 100 golfers, supporters and special guests attended the tournament, auction and dinner, which raised more than $207,000 for groundbreaking cancer research.
