**** ACTORFEST HITS NEW YORK CITY Story By: Tony Vargas **** Emanuel Sylvano This past weekend over 4,000 actors met at Hammerstein Ballroom on 34th Street in NYC for the annual Actorfest 2010. This was a great opportunity for beginners and seasoned professionals to participate in casting calls, “Meet and Drop” with popular casting directors, and to attend workshops hosted by industry professionals. Dozens of photographers, acting teachers, plus products and services were available in a huge, but cramp exhibit hall. Attendees were able to get information about headshots, auditions and callbacks, and learned all the new media, including: websites, podcasts, and DVD demo reels. Fellow working actors Diana Pou, Chris Dunn and Emanuel Sylvano met up and shared fist bumps. **** TIMES SQUARE GOSSIP PARTIES IN THE HAMPTON'S **** Stewart Lane With James Nederlander And Bonnie Comley Emanuel Sylvano With Chuck And Ellen Scarborough The Southampton Hospital Foundation hosted it's 50th Annual Summer Party, The Golden Gala, over the weekend. The event took place under the tents, designed by Tony Urrutia, on Wickapogue Road in Southampton, and was chaired by both Jean Remmel FitzSimmons and Ann Grimm. The Golden Anniversary Benefactor was Brooks Brothers. NBC veteran news anchor Chuck Scarborough was the MC. As in past years, the evening benefited the Hospital's Department of Emergency Medicine. Off Broadway, which long ago pioneered multi-racial casting, will see a retelling of the Biblical epic about David and Bathsheba this winter. In the new musical "Bathsheba", the title role is played by African-American actress Valerie D. Wright (which by the way is true to historical fact). King David, her husband and passionate lover, is portrayed by striking Greek actor Theo Theodoridis, and their son King Solomon is played by the devilishly handsome young Southampton actor Emanuel Sylvano who hails from Paraguay.
