SOUTHAMPTON ANIMAL SHELTER FOUNDATION TO TAKE PART IN 'RAPPAPORT TO THE RESCUE' ON 45TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIG APPLE CIRCUS

  Jill Rappaport During the pandemic, animal shelters saw a dramatic influx of adoptions, but as life returns to normal, and inflation rates continue to soar, many of those animals are sadly being returned. So this year, The Big Apple Circus has partnered with renowned animal advocate Jill Rappaport and her brand “Rappaport To The Rescue” to introduce 45 fabulous fur angels – on the 45th anniversary of the Big Apple Circus.  There will be wonderful shelters and foster-based organizations participating from all across the tristate to facilitate adoption applications and to share their wisdom about these precious pooches, including on its Opening night the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation (SASF).  On Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 starting at 4:00 PM, the public is invited to come down to the Big Top at Damrosch Park in Lincoln Center, New York City for this heartfelt adoption event! TREASURE BIG APPLE CIRCUS FILES CHAPTER 11

The Big Apple Circus New York, New York - The Big Apple Circus, a New York and national cultural treasure for nearly four decades, announced that it has filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. During the bankruptcy case, the Big Apple Circus intends to continue operating some of its community programs, which may be transitioned to other suitable nonprofit organizations, and to sell certain of its assets. In the meantime, the bankruptcy filing preserves the opportunity to restart the Big Apple Circus' one-ring show, either with new financial support or through a sale of the circus to a buyer interested in doing so. NEA AWARDS BIG APPLE CIRCUS FOR PROGRAMS

Big Apple Circus New York - National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $82 million to fund local arts projects and partnerships in the NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2016. Included in this announcement is an Art Works award of $30,000 to support Big Apple Circus' renowned community outreach programs: Clown Care®, Circus of the Senses, Big Apple Circus Embraces Autism, and Vaudeville Visits. This is the circus' third year of funding for the programs, helping to bring the arts to under-served populations for yet another season. "The arts are all around us, enhancing our lives in ways both subtle and obvious, expected and unexpected," said NEA Chairman Jane Chu.
