  Jennifer Brooks NYCSCR President NYC Second Chance Rescue announced a hopeful update on the rescued beagles transferred from Ridglan Farms, the Wisconsin breeding and research facility at the center of a massive national rescue effort. The beagles were first brought to NYC Second Chance Rescue’s Long Island City Adoption Center, where fellow rescue organizations stepped in to help place some of the dogs. NYC Second Chance Rescue is currently working to secure foster and forever homes for the 26 beagles still remaining in its care at the adoption center. Five of the rescued beagles also traveled with their rescuer, Holly Rilinger, to East Hampton, New York, where ARF Hamptons stepped forward to offer additional support and care. Holly was among the original rescuers who traveled to Ridglan Farms during the initial rescue efforts and returned two weeks later to help transport the beagles to safety with NYCSCR teammate Anges Reichert and Elizabeth Liguori.  The dogs arrived yes...

The heart of this mission is Vivi Zhou, representing the Andy Sabin Family Foundation. Born in Shenyang, a city in northeast China, Vivi knows the harsh reality many dogs face there. When her mother stumbled upon a shelter in desperate need of renovation, Vivi refused to turn away. She founded Hope4Fur China Dog Rescue, rallied resources, rebuilt the shelter, hired staff, and ensured every dog would receive medical attention, good nutrition, and love.   Ellen Scarorough And Chuck Scarborough The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF Hamptons) hosted the Bow Wow Meow Ball in the William P. Rayner Training Center which honored Ellen and Chuck Scarborough with the Champion of Animals Award in recognition of their more than twenty-five years of loyal support to ARF and their compassion towards animals in need.  The celebration of ARF’s life-saving work for over 50 years took place on the 22-acre campus in East Hampton where over 400 guests from New York City and the Hamptons enjoyed cocktails, followed by dinner catered by Olivier Cheng within an elegant setting.   Christina Moais With Warren Anderson & Fritz The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF Hamptons) held its Pet Celebration Day at the ARF Adoption Center at 124 Daniels Hole Road in East Hampton. The public was invited to bring the whole family, and pets too, for a tail-wagging pet fair dedicated to the joy our cats and dogs bring and the impact of ARF’s rescue efforts over the last 50 years. Admission to the event was free.  Attendees were able to learn about ARF’s programs and services, including the Operation Cat TNR program, dog training and socialization classes, volunteer opportunities, lemonARF, ARF’s Pet Food Pantry and coming later this spring, low cost spay/neuter clinics.  The festivities included music, vendors, a scavenger hunt, face painting, crafts for the kids, the dog agility course, “Ask the Trainer,” free nail clipping, free microchipping, low-cost vaccines, plus coffee, bottled water, and candy treats.
