The illustrious event took place at Sofrito in Harlem. Originally called The Rhythm Makers, Lopez suggested the prolific group, which consisted of Emanuel Rahiem Leblanc, the late Keith "Sabu" Crier, Herb Lane and Paul Service, change their name to GQ, which stood for Good Quality. GQ had platinum selling hits including "Disco Nights (Rock Freak)" and the Billy Stewart remake "I Do Love You."
