The HSPBC operates and maintains the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum, an admission-free, accessible institution featuring high quality, interactive exhibits. Funds raised by the Society provide critical education programs to the school children of Palm Beach County.

About the Grand Exhibition:

Resort wear evolved as a type of fashion after Henry Flagler's railroad brought visitors to the subtropical temperatures of south Florida. By the 20th century, the climate attracted travelers from afar, but the heavy winter clothes of northern travelers became untenable. Resort fashion emerged as the Palm Beach look.  Endless Summer will examine how the charm of a Palm Beach lifestyle attracts and influences not only its residents, but the most fashionable winter guests. From the effortless wardrobes of Anthony’s, Bonwit Teller, and salon owner Martha Phillips, to Philip Hulitar, Chanel, Lilly Pulitzer, and St. John, Palm Beach’s unique environment significantly shaped resort wear and continues to attract those chasing the sun.
