TONY AWARD WINNER AND LEGEND CICELY TYSON DIES AT 96

Cicely Tyson has died at age 96. The famed actress who was known for playing strong Black leads and refusing to play roles that were demeaning to Black women, was nominated for an Oscar for her role as the sharecropper’s wife in Sounder and a Tony Award in 2013 at age 88.
This is very sad for the New York City Broadway world. For many years I photographed her in and around the Great White Way, the last time being with Lenny Kravitz backstage at the Miller Theater. Cicely's dressing room was beautiful, flowers everywhere from all around the world and you felt like you were in her living room.
Another legend to be missed.
