MAYOR BILL DE BLASIO SHARES HIS HEALTH CARE PLAN WITH ABC'S 'THE VIEW'

Bill de Blasio On The View

Bill de Blasio shares his plan for free healthcare in NYC with The View.

"Everyone should have a right to healthcare," the NYC mayor says.

"Let's face it — the emergency room is the family doctor now for millions and millions of Americans and tax dollars pay for it," de Blasio says of the current system in place. "If you have a guarantee of healthcare, no matter who you are, you get a primary care doctor assigned to you, you have the ability to get all of the other care you need ... whatever it is, if you have access to it you will actually get the healthcare you need when you need it."

"If they don't get healthcare, if they get sick, if everyone is sick, if the whole community isn't healthy, then we all suffer," he explains why undocumented immigrants are included in his universal healthcare plan. "That's the blunt reality of this country — undocumented immigrants are part of our economy,"
