"It does make you appreciate every minute of every hour of every day," McCain said. "We should all thank God for every minute."

"We should not be fighting about a brave American who lost his life serving his country."




On Vietnam Draft Dodgers



McCain said he doesn't consider President Trump a "draft dodger" but feels the system was "wrong" for allowing certain Americans to "evade their responsibility to serve the country": "When we ask the lowest income portion of our public to do our fighting and dying for us ... that's disgraceful."


 
On Trump's Threat To Him



McCain responded to Trump's "I fight back" comment: "I've faced greater challenges... Let's stop insulting each other, let's start respecting each other."



On Relationship With Trump



When asked what his relationship is like Pres. Trump, McCain said, "almost none."





On Defending Obama On 2008 Campaign Trail



McCain recalled correcting an audience member who called Obama "an Arab": "You can't let that go. 


You've just gotta do what's right."



"This has got to stop," McCain said of the lack of civility in politics today. "We've got to be respectful of one another's views and have a dialogue on truth and not on allegations and personal attacks!"



On His Legacy



McCain shared what he wants to people to remember him for: "He served his country and he's proud of his family."


Giving Meghan A Special Birthday Gift


McCain gave a heartfelt birthday gift to his daughter that brought her to tears.
