Well Go USA is proud to present THE VILLAINESS, Jung Byung-Gil's latest high-voltage action thriller. Since she was a little girl, Sook-hee (KIM Ok-vin) was brought up to become a deadly assassin. She gets a second chance in life when South Korea's Intelligence Agency's Chief Kwon recruits her to become a sleeper cell. Her new identity is Chae Yeon-soo, 27 years old, theater actress. With a promise of complete freedom after serving the country for 10 years, Sook-hee begins a new life. For someone who lived a life of a killer, living a normal life is no easy task. But when 2 men appear in her life suddenly, she uncovers secrets of her past. THE VILLAINESS premiered at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, and will be released by Well Go USA in fall 2017.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER



In 2008, JUNG Byung-gil made his big screen debut with ACTION BOYS. He originally trained to become a stuntman, but chose another path as a director instead. He took on dual roles as writer and director on his follow-up CONFESSION OF MURDER, which won him many awards in Korea. After five years, director JUNG is back with another actioner, THE VILLAINESS, inspired by his own short film STANDING ON THE KNIFE.
