19TH ANNUAL MASHOMACK INTERNATIONAL POLO

The Mashomack Polo Club hosted its 19th Annual Mashomack International Polo Challenge Luncheon recently. The event began at noon with a Champagne Reception followed by a Tented Field-Side Luncheon and the exciting International Polo Challenge match. Five teams battled to secure the coveted trophy for their team and country, which included Team Germany, Dream Hotels, Hillrock Distillery, Quest Magazine and Lavazza Coffee. Team Germany - Mercedes Wappinger Falls fought off the four other challengers to claim the victory of the day.



The 32 horses and 20 players made it a great day out and an exciting polo challenge to watch in the beautiful weather. Close to 1,000 guests enjoyed the games field side and under the tent, cheering on the competitors throughout the day. The heritage and tradition of Millbrooks Hunt country and rolling green hills was a beautiful backdrop for the day. The team lineup included, for Team Germany: Uwe Zimmerman, John Klopp, Alessandro Balestri and Julio Ezcurra; Team Dream Hotels: Davis Colley, Max Langlois, Tatin Zubarrie, Ian MacTaggart; Team Hillrock Distillery: Oakleigh Thorne, Craig Callen, Gason Lisioli, Guy Merison; Quest Magazine: Adam Klopp, Hannah Buchan, Trevi Zoda, Nick Beanstock; Lavazza Coffee - Bruce Colley, Philip MacTaggart, Agusho Zavaleta and Don Langlois. Nick Beinstock was named the most valuable player of the day. The Mashomack Polo Club extended a special thank you to the sponsors, horses, players and to the many who worked so hard to make the day a success.



This year’s event benefited Pine Plains Fire Hose & Rescue Company, Ronald McDonald House and the New York State Trooper Foundation.

This elegant annual event kicks off the summer social season in Millbrook as it draws over 1500 Town & Country spectators and patrons. Following the match is a highly publicized awards ceremony. The Mashomack Preserve Club is a private polo and shooting club located in the heart of Millbrook hunt country, providing a stunning backdrop to the wonderful day. This prestigious event attracts over 1,000 true tastemaker patrons and spectators and marks the official start of the summer social season in Millbrook, New York. Many fans travel from New York City, Westchester and Fairfield County to spend the day in the countryside and experience this exciting polo event and uniquely stylish affair. Teams representing the United States, Great Britain, India, Brazil, France and Italy have battled valiantly in the past. Polo, “the sport of kings” promises not to disappoint.
