MICHAEL 'MICKY' TOHILL 9 TIME IRISH BOXING CHAMP DIES

Michael “Mickey” Tohill, Olympian and 9 Time Irish boxing champ turned celebrity personal trainer, passed away the other day in Belfast, Ireland after a long struggle with cancer. Mickey’s athletic career was a storied one, winning 573 of his 580 boxing matches and competing in the 1972 Munich Olympics, 1970 European Games and the 1969 British Empire Games.



As a celebrity trainer, his client roster boasted names that included Bono, Jimmy Fallon, Liam Neeson, Director Terry George and Daniel Day Lewis, with whom he trained for the movie The Boxer where he had a cameo – he truly was one of the best at what he did.



He will be interred at St. Paul’s Parrish
