Figure Skating in Harlem held its 10th Skating With the Stars Benefit Gala in New York City honoring Gloria Steinem, Alana, Juliette and Nicole Feld and Evan Lysacek.

Figure Skating in Harlem is the first nonprofit organization of its kind, combining the power of education with the discipline of figure skating to transform young lives and help underserved girls achieve academic success, physical health and emotional well-being. Its vision is to empower every young girl, regardless of her socio-economic background, with the foundational academic, social and leadership skills to achieve her dreams. Figure Skating in Harlem was founded by Sharon Cohen, a former USA gold metal figure skater. 100% of all of the participants go on to study in different colleges.
