ISAIAH WASHINGTON STILL RANTS ON HOMOPHOBIC SLUR
Isaiah Washington
Isaiah Washington sat down with HuffPost Live today and opened up about being fired from "Grey's Anatomy" in 2007 after he used a homophobic slur. Washington urged audiences to stop viewing him as the "villain."
Washington: "This narrative of me being a villain has to stop. I played a gay character when it was unpopular, when my agents told me that my career was going to end."
Washington: "This 'Grey's [Anatomy'] thing, I love it because the residuals are so amazing, [and] I'm grateful, but I really wish people would let it go. You know? Just let it go. Dr. Burke is done. He went back May 1st, 2014. [There were] 'Burke is back' parties around the world. You can't keep my feet against these coals when the narrative was wrong in the first place. I have to brush my shoulders on that thing, man."
