DEEP ROLLING --- Adele, who rarely tweets or is spotted in public, took to Twitter on Sunday to deny a report about an alleged breakup with longtime partner Simon Konecki.

The 26-year-old Grammy-winning "Rolling in the Deep" and "Rumor Has It" singer and her beau of some three years share a 2-year-old son, Angelo. On Saturday, the U. K. tabloid The Sun reported that the pair was no longer living together, sparking split rumors.

"Just wanted to wish everyone happy holidays & all the best for 2015! PS Simon & I are still very much together, don't believe what you read," Adele said via Twitter in what marked her first tweet in almost three months.

Konecki has not commented.

Adele's most recent album, the 2011 record 21, which contains songs such as "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You," was famously inspired by a past breakup. The album won six Grammys and the singer has 10 in total. Her most recent single, "Skyfall," the theme song of the 2012 James Bond movie by the same name, won a Golden Globe and an Oscar in 2013.

While Adele channels her emotions in her music, she is notoriously private and is rarely photographed in public. In June, she was seen out and about in her native London. This past fall, she and Konecki were both spotted at a concert by FKA Twigs, Robert Pattinson's girlfriend, in the city. Adele was also photographed at a London restaurant with Beyoncé and Jay Z that month.

Adele and Simon were also invited to attend Sir Elton John's wedding to David Furnish last weekend but were unable to make it. John's Instagram featured a photo showing a handwritten, apologetic note signed on behalf of the couple and their son.

VERIZON INTERNET SUCKS... If stories are slow this week, it's because my boss James Edstrom has once again been getting outage after outage. This happened to him in Times Square and it's happening in Brooklyn. Said Edstrom, " Verizon is one of the worst companies for Internet service and customer care. You call them and you are speaking to India or some other country. Verizon wants Americans money, they just don't want to hire many Americans. We need to start supporting companies that hire Americans big time". Let us know what you think on Twitter @JamesEdstrom

TALDE EATS --- When you enter a restaurant and immediately told when the next party is set to arrive … that’s never a good sign. Saturday we went to Talde in Brooklyn, on Seventh Avenue, and though the food was rather outstanding (though the portions terribly small), the service level hit a new low.

The Asian-princess at the door had the attitude of a hen that couldn’t be bothered and it only got worse from there. Terribly off putting.

Chef Dale Talde, a veteran of Vong in Chicago and Buddakan in New York before his time on Top Chef, Talde does possess a singular knack for interpreting Asian dishes for popular tastes. The wait-staff was equally rude and the only saving grace was our waiter Noah, from Newton, Mass, who had a rather ribald sense of humor about the whole thing.

Guess it’s easier being the waiter and not at the table. We also spied a waiter who dropped some food and quickly put it back on the plate …. Yikes!

Sure Talde’s reputation precedes him, but we were shocked and stopped dead in our tracks on this one. I’d find another Asian-fusion emporium for sure. The food’s good, but that’s it.

JERSEY SNIPER --- Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper, with Bradley Cooper, took in a stellar $850,000 in just 4 theatres over the holiday-break. That success begs the question, why wasn’t Clint’s Jersey Boys epic bigger?

Sure, the movie had a 12 million dollar opening weekend, but most agree that Eastwood was a wildcard choice and another, perhaps one more familiar with translating a stage show to the screen, would have been more in order. I saw the movie again this weekend, actually my third viewing, and found it just sensational.

I love Eastwood’s work and though I too, thought it was a strange choice, he certainly opened it up and I think, giving the mostly unknown cast a great canvas to work on. I always think when you start giving above the title names to the various roles, you start watching them instead of enjoying their roles.

I also thought Christopher Walken was outstanding and though having perhaps bigger marquee names (and, perhaps a teen heartthrob on the Valli-part) would have helped, it still does stand up. I mean, those songs … just classic.

Beneath the obvious observations lie stone cold proof that Valli, as one of the producers and creators of the stage show, wanted his voice to be represented on the film. Clint opted to have his cast sing, so there was a significant stand-off. Valli didn’t attend any of the premieres, nor help the movie in any way … and, he should have.

It’s interesting to note that Valli’s voice wasn’t in the stage play either, which has had a very healthy run.

Face it, Broadway musicals usually don’t translate well to the silver screen … think Rent (which is one of my all-time favorite plays) but Eastwood’s Jersey Boys is very definitely a guilty pleasure.

CLOSING NOTES: Great interview with Corner-favorite Tony Danza yesterday on CBS Sunday Morning.

Hugh Hefner was presumed to be dead of natural causes, Sunday, December 28, 2014. Well, that’s the story which was given from a fake sub-medium of NBC called NBCToday.co. This site can’t be called news satire because once nbctoday.co is entered as the URL address, it takes the user straight to the fake story.

Though the story is fake, it spread like wildfire, seemingly without anyone bothering to research the issue himself or herself.

As of 11:00 PM PST, the Hugh Hefner fake-death story had over 159,000 Facebook shares, along with over 39,000 Likes. Likewise, it has approximately 1800 Twitter shares.

Unfortunately, by sunrise, this fake Hugh Hefner story may be trending.

The story states that police responded to Hugh Hefner’s estate on December 28 at approximately 9 AM, where Hefner’s body was identified, and he was pronounced dead.

However, later that same night, Hefner had his usual movie night at The Mansion, screening American Sniper...

Now, the so-called cyber-experts are saying that North Korea was not involved in the Sony-hack; especially in light of Sony's Playstation networks went down over the weekend. Insiders say this is proof that it was an inside-job. One thing's for sure: business at Sony will forever be changed. I wonder who's next?
