Cover girl Jean Shafiroff and Resident Magazine celebrated the May 2014 “Philanthropy Issue” with a cocktail party in recognition of Jean’s philanthropic work. The magazine’s five page feature “Giving Back in Syle” provides insight into Jean’s work and the sources of her motivation, drive and passion to work and support deserving causes to the benefit of society. Guests in attendance included Martin Shafiroff,  Resident Magazine Editor-in-Chief Christopher Pape, fashion designer Zang Toi, fashion designer Victor de Souza, CNBC’s Melissa Lee, Three time Emmy Winner ABC Radio’s Rita Cosby with Tomaczek Bednarek, fashion designer Maggie Norris, Deady Stuff Players Flo Anthony, OWN Network’s Love in the City Tiffany Jones, author Michael Gross, portrait artist Ike Ude, Yaz Hernandez and Roy Kean.



Jean is on six charity boards, including the New York Women's Foundation, JBFCS, Lighthouse International Advisory Board, Couture Council, French Heritage Society, Southampton Bath and Tennis Club Charitable Foundation and the Honorary Board of the Southampton Animal Shelter Gala. Every year she chairs many charity Galas and hosts many charity luncheons and parties. Jean is an active supporter of many charities including the Southampton Hospital and New York City Mission Society.



About Jean Shafiroff


Jean Shafiroff is an active volunteer leader of several New York City and Southampton charitable causes. Her managerial skills, compassion, generosity and enthusiastic dedication are among her strongest traits. She possesses a remarkable ability to connect different charitable groups with interested people and resources. Jean is known for her strong fund raising and people skills.



Jean holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University and a BS in physical therapy from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. Jean is married to Martin D. Shafiroff, an investment advisor, and together they have two daughters, Jacqueline and Elizabeth, who share their mother’s interest in charitable causes. They reside in New York City and Southampton.
