After nearly two years involvement as producers of “Seduced and Abandoned,” Larry & Michele Herbert and Alan & Marla Helene toasted the success of the film with a private party at The Top of The Standard on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, in New York City.

Following a screening of the documentary at the IFC Center in New York City’s West Village, guests of the Herberts and the Helenes, including fellow producer Michael Mailer, director James Toback, MSNBC President Phil Griffin and wife Kory Apton, author and journalist Taki Theodoracopulous, Broadway producer Jonathan Farkas and celebrity event planner Arthur Backal, arrived at the Top of the Standard for the exclusive party.

“Seduced and Abandoned,” starring Alec Baldwin, premiered as a Special Screening in the Official Selection at the 66th Festival de Cannes in May 2013, and debuted on HBO as part of the network’s fall 2013 documentary series.

About “Seduced and Abandoned”: “Seduced and Abandoned” celebrates the adventures of filmmaking, following Baldwin and Toback on a troublesome and often hilarious journey at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, as they attempt to secure financing for their next feature film. In this behind-the-scenes look at the Cannes Film Festival, Baldwin and Toback interface with a wide variety of Cannes denizens from movie stars, directors, producers, distributors, financiers, personalities and even the director of the film festival himself. Following encounters with celebrities and directors including Ryan Gosling, Diane Kruger, Francis Ford Coppola and Martin Scorese, Toback and Baldwin are forced to face the difficult realities of producing a film— leaving them feeling seduced and abandoned in the end.
