The list of physical, mental and emotional demands on busy moms, especially those who work for a living, is a long one. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, business woman or working mother, it's easy to feel overwhelmed in both your professional and personal lives. What do you do when there are so many things that need doing? Empowerment Expert, Momtrepreneur & Author Jen Groover shares her tips for creating balance and finding time to do everything that matters.

#1 CREATE A “DRAMA-FREE ZONE” SO YOU CAN STAY FOCUSED.

Surround yourself with people who give you energy. Avoid activities, people and foods that drain your energy.

#2 LET GO OF THE IDEAL OF SO CALLED “WORK LIFE BALANCE.”

There’s no perfect ratio or schedule that defines whether or not you are both a good mother and a successful career woman.

#3 EXPRESS YOUR GOALS TO FULFILL YOUR DREAMS.

Speaking openly with family, friends and business associates will help them realize you’re not ignoring them; they’ll see you have specific goals in mind and if you’re supported, you’ll have an easier time reaching them.

#4 ALLOW YOUR WORK TO BE YOUR REJUVENATION AS A MOTHER, AND VICE VERSA.

The joy you get from time spent with your family will translate positively in your work, and the satisfaction you get from your work will make you happier at home.

#5 DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.

Stop comparing yourself to others and create your own family’s “normal.”

#6 DON’T FEEL GUILTY ABOUT LOVING YOUR CAREER.

Remember that as a passionate and successful professional woman, you are not only a positive, strong female role model for your children, you are also paving the way to greater opportunities for their futures.

#7 DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP FOR NOT GETTING IT ALL DONE.

You’re only human. Try setting small, reachable goals for each day. If you can cross five things off your to-do list at the end of each day, you're making good progress!
