The producers of Off-Broadway’s sellout sensation HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER today announced that the hit comedy is set to move to The Screening Room Theater at Planet Hollywood Times Square, with performances beginning September 20th. HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER will continue at its current home, Sofia’s Downstairs Theater, through next Saturday, August 17th, as Sofia's is losing its lease after 40 years.




Written and performed by Margaret Copeland and Kevin James Doyle, HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER has been playing to packed houses Off-Broadway since August 22, 2012. HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER delivers a laugh-filled tour around the greatest city in the world with actors, comedians and licensed tour guides Ms. Copeland and Mr. Doyle as they play over 70 characters. Under the direction of OBIE Award winner Robert Ross Parker, this “Saturday Night Live” style comedy features a hilarious look at NYC's 400-year history. Immigrants, construction workers, muggers, Wall Street bankers, panhandlers, MTA workers, and Mayor Bloomberg all get a solid lampooning! It doesn't matter if you were born on the Upper West Side or just took your first terrifying cab ride, you will love learning How to Be a New Yorker.



HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER is produced Off-Broadway by Marie B Productions. The remaining performances at Sofia’s Downstairs Theater (221 West 46 Street) are Thursdays & Fridays at 7:30 PM and Saturdays at 2 & 7:30 PM, with a running time of 65 minutes (no intermission). Pre-show lunch or dinner is served beginning 30 minutes before each performance. The new playing schedule at The Screening Room Theater at Planet Hollywood Times Square (1540 Broadway) will be Fridays at 7:30 PM and Saturdays at 2 & 7:30 PM. The entrance is located on 45th Street just east of Broadway. Lunch or dinner will continue to be served beginning 30 minutes before each performance, with a delicious and substantially improved menu consisting of House Salad, Spaghetti Marinara, Fettuccini Alfredo, Chicken Parmigiana, and Cookies & Brownies.
