My favorite time of year is upon us, summertime in New York. New Yorkers live for this time of year because we are so lucky to have some of the most fantastic beaches just short jaunts from our winter caves. This is also the time of year that I start my DJ residency at the club closest to my heart "CHERRYS ON THE BAY" in Cherry Grove on Fire Island. Fire Island may be part of the USA but it is a world away.

I feel lucky that I get to DJ at a club like Cherry's which has a gorgeous view of the bay and magnificent sunsets from my DJ booth. The summer crowds come to Cherry's to dance which makes Cherry's dance floor an incredible barometer for what commercial music is HOT HOT HOT in the clubs! Here are some of -the-hook banging hits already moving the beach dance floors! 

The top of the list of joyous dance anthems at the moment is Icona Pop's "I Love It!" Definitely the FIRST big hit of SUMMER 2013! With the crowd screaming out I DON'T CARE!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! Simply fabulous! A DJ's dream song because it always draws people to the floor with fist pumping and singing! I LOVE IT!!!!! The remix mix I have been dropping is done by Wayne G and LFB. Wayne G has been doing some extreme power remixes that seriously explode on the dance floor! Loving his work! 

Getting a lot of requests on Fire Island is "Feel This Moment"

by Pitbull with Christina Aguilera. Pitbull has been adding his style and flavor to the tracks of most of the popular artists of the moment which generally makes them guaranteed hits! The Jump Smokers remix I use of FTM is smoking! 

"Clarity" by Zedd featuring Foxes is getting a lot of love by music aficionados ! Check out Tiesto's remix. He lulls you in with the vocal and then power drives the breaks! FIERCE!

The first time I heard this song months ago I fell in love with it because Florence Welch has the most seductive voice and "Sweet Nothing" which pairs her with the master of the moment Calvin Harris is just brilliant!! It's one of those songs that just gives me chills and makes me want to sing it at the top of my lungs! 

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have been creating some dance floor mayhem with 2 great tracks "Thrift Shop" and "Can't Hold Us." I love when people come up to me and ask me to play the song "I got $20 in my pocket!" 

Calvin Harris does it again with the incredible UK vocalist Ellie Goulding on the infectious track "I Need Your Love!' Her songs "Lights" and "Anything Can Happen" are also worth an add to your playlist's. 

Will.I.Am has been doing some great duets this year adding his signature sound to the yummy "Scream & Shout" with Britney Spears. It's BRITNEY bitch!!! The remix by DJ Escape is a definitely dance floor hit but I also love the fun remix done by Honeycutt & Lu Guessa - Fake Divas Djs. "#That Power" which pairs Will.I.Am with Justin Beiber is cheesy dance magic! I have to say even though I really want to hate Beiber, he won me over when he did "Beauty and The Beat" with Nicki Minaj. Check out the Wideboys remix of that track.

If there is one pop star that deserves kudos it is Miss RiRi because she consitantly creates dance anthems. Loving Rihanna's "Stay" with Mikky Ekko which is a gorgeous song. The Hi Def Bootleg version kicks up this ballad and makes it dance floor gold! Look for her track "Right Now" with David Guetta to start heating things up!

Take a listen to Daft Punk's pairing with Pharrell on "Get Lucky" which is has a seriously fun groove thang happening! The talented Pharrell has become a hot pairing on a couple of hit dance songs this summer!

A few other juicy treats I am loving at the moment are "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke ft TI and Pharrell. Currently #1 on all the charts. The Liam Keegan/ Anton Powers mix takes this song to a happy place. Swedish DJ Avicii with Dutch DJ Nicky Romero have a beautiful banger that feeds my love of female vocalists with "I Could Be The One" featuring uncredited Swedish singer Noonie Boa! Speaking of Swedish, the awesome Swedish House Mafia has been burning things up with "Don't You Worry Child!"

And what may be a summer sleeper anthem off the' Great Gatsby" soundtrack is "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody." Sung by the fabulous Fergie, the lyrics alone and the jazzy beat make it a perfect fun summer tune.
