Brandy hosted the countdown at LAVO where the newly engaged singer and actress was joined by fiancé Ryan Press. On the carpet she showed off her ring and shared that the engagement was spontaneous but that her fiancé put a lot of thought into the design of the ring and it represents how he feels about her and how blessed she to have someone like him in her life. When asked about New Year’s resolutions she stated she, “wasn’t going to make any specific resolutions other than to just continue to be a good person”. Brandy said to expect great things in 2013 and is looking forward to the upcoming sixth season of her TV show The Game. After walking the carpet she made her way to the nightclub where she led revelers in a countdown and then treated them to two of her songs. A bit later in the night the happy couple was surprised with a cake topped with a ring celebrating their engagement as DJ Five played one of her throwback songs, Sitting on Top of the World, and Ryan fed her a piece of cake. Club goers including Jamie Foxx, Kevin Connolly and Emmanuelle Chriqui counted down to the New Year spread out throughout the two story restaurant and nightlife venue, with many taking in the fireworks from the Strip front terrace.

At TAO hip hop artist J Cole played host for the evening. He took to the stage just before the clock struck 12 for the countdown and welcomed 2013, saying “It’s my first New Year’s in Vegas and everything they told me was true,” then making a wish for the crowd, “May your dreams become reality”. After he had the crowd rapping along to every word of his surprise three song set he headed to the first floor of the venue to greet party goers before settling in at a VIP table on the dance floor stocked with Bud Light Platinum and more.

At Marquee Benny Benassi closed out 2012 and entered his 2013 residency with an all new expanded version of his Metamorphosis show. Costumed dancers took to the stage as the new state of the art lasers created a stunning visual accompaniment to his set. Benassi gave way to DJ Chuckie, who flew in after playing a New Year’s Eve set in Sydney, Australia.
