Luke James

Recently N.A.R.S. Records / Mercury Records / Island Def Jam recording artist Luke James received his career first GRAMMY Award nomination in the Best R&B Performance category for his debut solo single, “I Want You.” Fresh off the GRAMMY nomination announcement, Luke James released the music video for his new single, “Make Love To Me.”

This coming Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 9pm, “R&B’s new golden boy” (Billboard) will host a special EP release showcase concert at S.O.B.’s in New York City to celebrate the release of his new EP, Whispers In The Dark, out that day. Luke James’s debut, full-length solo studio album, Made To Love, is slated for a spring 2013 release. Having previously co-written hits for the likes of Chris Brown (“Crawl”), Justin Bieber (“That Should Be Me”), Britney Spears (“Kill The Lights”), and Michael Bolton, 2012 has proved to be a breakthrough year for the R&B artist. A good thing, because according to BET.com, “it would be a pop culture injustice if Luke James doesn’t become a household name.”

With crowd-rising performances at this year’s BET Honors, Black Girls Rock!, ESSENCE Music Festival, BET Music Matters Tour, and BET Networks CEO Debra Lee’s PRE BET Awards dinner, the “buttery-smooth New Orleans soul singer” (Village Voice) with the “pretty falsetto” (New York Times) has quickly stepped out into the limelight even before the release of his debut solo album. Luke James’s ever-growing celebrity fan base includes First Lady Michelle Obama, Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Hudson, Brandy, Estelle, Joe Jonas, Michelle Williams, Ledisi, Melanie Fiona, and none other than Beyoncé, who not only selected him for a featured role in her “Run the World” video but also to open all four of her Revel shows last summer. If his newfound status as a GRAMMY Award-nominated artist says anything, it isn’t just industry insiders, celebrities and tastemakers that have been able to witness Luke James’s “cataclysmic vocals and liberating stage presence” (BET.com); audiences from coast-to-coast have been able to see him perform alongside Brandy, Tank, Faith Evans, Estelle, and open for Robin Thicke’s “Love After War” tour.

Luke James will take the stage at S.O.B.’s in New York City at 9pm on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 to celebrate the release of his newest EP, Whispers In The Dark.
