On July 27, 2012 CNN correspondent and global humanitarian, Soledad O’Brien and husband, Brad Raymond host their 2nd annual “New Orleans in the Hamptons” fundraising event to benefit the Soledad O’Brien + Brad Raymond Foundation. In classic New Orleans spirit, the evening will include a live jazz band performance to accompany the dinner program.

Event Chairpersons for the evening will be entertainer Steve Harvey and his wife philanthropist Marjorie Harvey, X-Factor's L.A. Reid, and Blogher CEO Lisa Stone. Additional confirmed attendees include the foundation's Board of Directors Pharrell Williams and Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Irvin Mayfield, Maxwell, Star Jones, and a host of supporting business professionals

The Soledad O’Brien + Brad Raymond Foundation is a natural progression, an extension of what the couple has been doing independently and quietly for years. “We address all the obstacles in students’ lives and support them in every way that leads to a better future. Education is the great equalizer and the key to the American dream," says Soledad. O’Brien and Raymond started the foundation after witnessing the heart wrenching effects of Hurricane Katrina.

All proceeds from ticket sales for the “New Orleans in the Hamptons” event fund scholarships for talented young women who lack resources to pay for their educational aspirations.
