FUEL TO PLAY HOUSE OF BLUES ATLANTIC CITY

Showboat In Atlantic City

Popular rock band Fuel will play the Party Pit at the House of Blues at Showboat Saturday, July 7th. Lead by original singer Brett Scallions, the band will play a free, open-to-the-public show at Showboat’s rock and roll gaming area.

“Fourth of July weekend will be huge this year with Jamie Foxx and Pauly D at the Pool After Dark, Mary J Blige at Caesars, Papa Roach and Disco Biscuits at House of Blues, and Fuel at the Party Pit ,” said Jason Spencer, Regional Director of Entertainment for Caesars Entertainment. “Regardless of your style, there is an event for you this Fourth of July.”

Since they burst onto the scene with their 1998 full-length debut Sunburn, Fuel has been a staple on rock radio regardless of the ebb and flow of ephemeral musical trends. After the massive success of “Shimmer,” Fuel released 2000’s Something Like Human, which featured the hit singles “Innocent” and “Hemorrhage (In My Hands)” and achieved double platinum status. After 3 years filled with touring, Fuel released 2003’s Natural Selection, which featured the hit “Falls On Me.”

“There’s been a lot of turmoil within the band over the past few years and a lot of that is reflected in these songs,” says guitarist and chief songwriter Carl Bell. “When change happens it brings out the best and the worst in people, and I’d like to think that for us it was mostly the best.”

2011 found Fuel changing again with original lead vocalist Brett Scallions coming back to the fold. A new decade brings about a new beginning for the band, as they have enlisted Guitarist Andy Andersson, Bassist Brad Stewart of Shinedown, and Drummer Ken Schalk of Candiria to accompany Scallions on the 2011 Tour.

The performance is free and open to the public and Showboat Atlantic City urges fans looking to view the concert up close to come early, as reservations are not accepted.
