The new issue of Us Weekly, which looks at how The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice has been humiliated by her husband, Joe Guidice, and what might happen if he is incarcerated. Among his offenses: drunken onscreen outbursts, a DWI arrest, an $11 million bankruptcy filing (which he later rescinded) and, most recently, an indictment for using a false ID to obtain a driver’s license. The latter charge could land him in prison for 10 years. All the while, published reports of his alleged infidelity have plagued her. “Teresa puts on blinders when it comes to Joe,” says a Giudice source. “It’s difficult for her to accept he’s such a scumbag.”
Multiple sources tell Us that the cookbook author and entrepreneur is already planning her next moves should her husband of 12 years be locked up: namely, land a spinoff show and pen a memoir about life as a single mom to Gia, 11, Gabriella, 6, Milania, 5, and Audriana, 2. “I don’t know if she’ll actually leave him if he goes to jail,” says a second Giudice insider. “But she knows everyone will see her as a victim and she’ll get her own show.” Teresa is no dummy when it comes to her career. She is slowly becoming more comfortable letting Joe look like a bad guy if it means creating compassion for her plight. Adds another source, “If Joe goes to jail, there will be sympathy for her, and she’ll get a spinoff show about life as a single mom. She’ll do a book deal, too: My Life Without Joe or something like that.”

A source tells Hot Stuff the Gossip Girl star, 26, has been out “a couple times” with ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews, 34. “They’re getting to know each other,” says the insider. Indeed, at a May 8 Purity Vodka–sponsored NYC bash, “they talked the entire party,” says a witness. Two days later, the duo dined à deux at NYC’s Scalinatella. Says an insider, “Chace likes that she’s independent and already established.” Still, an Andrews pal cautions, “she only sees him as a friend.”

Take two! After a weeks-long fling in February 2008, Sean Penn and Petra Nemcova are giving it another go. On May 10, a witness saw the pair “holding hands” during U2 frontman Bono’s star-filled 52nd birthday bash at NYC’s the Spotted Pig. After Penn, 51, and the Czech model, 32, mingled with revelers — including Gwyneth Paltrow and Jay-Z — “they left together,” adds a second onlooker. It’s Penn’s first high-profile hookup since Scarlett Johansson, 27, with whom he split after four months in June 2011. And the Oscar winner’s quite the rebound for Nemcova, who announced April 11 she had called off her engagement to British actor Jamie Belman, 26. Explains a source, “Petra started going on dates with Sean right after the split.”

Witherspoon goes to court for parents’ bizarre bigamy case
Home, sweet home? Hardly. On May 9, Reese Witherspoon raced to Nashville after her mother, Betty, 63, filed a suit against her husband of 42 years, John, 70 — from whom she separated in 1996 — claiming that he committed bigamy by marrying Patricia “Tricianne” Taylor, 60, in January. In court papers seeking to annul that union, Betty wrote that after reading about his nuptials in a local paper, she confronted John and he “said he didn’t know who Tricianne Taylor was.” She asserts that he suffers from early-onset dementia. Betty — who says she and John split due to his “alcoholism, infidelity, overspending and hoarding” — also claims Taylor persuaded John to change his will. Five-months-pregnant Reese, 36, appeared with both parents at a May 11 hearing, at which Betty requested conservatorship over John. “Reese is devastated,” a source tells Hot Stuff. “She wants her mom protected and her dad to get help.”

Jolly good move! Brad Pitt, 48, and Angelina Jolie, 36, are shelling out $24,000 a month to rent a mansion on the posh Wentworth Estate in Surrey, England, where, a source says, they will be based “for the next 15 months” as they make movies in the U.K. “It looks like the White House!” gushes an insider of the palatial property. “And it’s perfect because they’re still close to Miraval, their home in France.”
