PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT TO CLOSE

Nick Adams

Everyone from Hugh Jackman and Gloria Estefan to Gladys Knight and Micky Dolenz has visited the smash musical, “Priscilla Queen of the Desert,” during its first year on Broadway and earlier this week the Queen of Disco, Gloria “I Will Survive” Gaynor was seen at NY’s Palace Theatre dancing in the aisles. Her iconic anthem is performed twice during every performance of “Priscilla.”

Of the many triple threat performers in “Priscilla,” one that Gloria was particularly impressed with was Broadway hottie Nick Adams, who masterfully plays Adam and Felicia in the production. Prior to Priscilla, Adams was in “La Cage aux Folles” with Kelsey Grammer as well as Broadway runs of “A Chorus Line,” “Guys and Dolls” and “Chicago.”

Gloria’s “I Will Survive” was recently voted the # 1 Karaoke Song of All-Time and VH-1 chose it as # 1 on their countdown of the “100 Greatest Dance Songs of the 20th Century.”

Sadly, it was just announced that after 549 performances, the curtain will be coming down on Priscilla. The final performance will be Sunday, June 24th.
