 Julie Tussey

Makeup artist and eyebrow stylist extraordinaire Julie Tussey has over 25 years of experience working with women of all ages. Known for her subtle contouring and highlighting techniques, she uses color and texture to craft artful illusions and radiant complexions. Also known as the “brow whisperer,” she employs her remarkable understanding of symmetry to create the ideal angled brow, which relies on the optimum length-frame to flatter the face.

A former Broadway performer (she appeared in the original cast of A Chorus Line) and resident makeup artist for such distinguished brands as Nars, Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier, Julie has studied face design from all angles, under every possible lighting scheme. She has also acted as a makeup-show host on the Q2 network, worked behind the scenes at beauty and fashion photo shoots, and custom-shaped the brows of socialites, celebrities and top fashion models.

Renowned for a unique, personalized approach that considers the client’s face shape, eye shape and bone structure into account, Julie happily teaches her clients how to apply cosmetics and maintain their own brows. Her greatest joy is being able to work her artistry, share her techniques with her clients, and watch them light up from within. Julie is currently the brow guru at Angelo David Salon in New York City.
