GSN announced it has acquired from FremantleMedia North America the cable network rights to more than 300 episodes of FAMILY FEUD, hosted by Steve Harvey. FAMILY FEUD with Steve Harvey premieres on GSN Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Amy Introcaso-Davis, GSN’s EVP Programming, said, “FAMILY FEUD has consistently been a top performer on our network, and we are thrilled to air these new seasons hosted by Steve Harvey. Steve’s phenomenal comic abilities and expertise in relationships resonate with our core female demographic and make him the perfect addition to our line-up.”

FAMILY FEUD remains syndication’s fastest growing show among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54, GSN’s key demographic group. Harvey took over as the series’ host in 2010, and it was recently renewed in first-run through 2015. Most recently during the month of February 2012, “Family Feud” hit its highest syndication ratings in seven years with a 3.3 HH rating.

In addition to his hosting duties on FAMILY FEUD, Steve Harvey is an entertainer, best-selling author and host of the syndicated radio program, “Steve Harvey Morning Show.” He is the author of the #1 New York Times best-seller, Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man (Harper Collins). The book is Harvey’s guide for women to unlocking the male mind. He will also helm a new syndicated television talk show to premiere this fall from NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution. The feature film, “Think Like a Man,” based on Harvey’s book, is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 20, 2012 by Screen Gems.

Harvey began his successful stand-up comedy career in the mid-80s, which led to a long stint as host of “It's Showtime at the Apollo,” as well as multiple TV sitcoms, including “Me and The Boys” (ABC), “The Steve Harvey Show” (The WB) and “Steve Harvey Big Time Challenge” (The WB). In 1997, he went on tour as one of the successful “Kings of Comedy” alongside Cedric The Entertainer, the late Bernie Mac and D.L. Hughley, which led to the taping of one of the most successful comedy DVDs in history—“The Original Kings of Comedy”—directed by Spike Lee. In 2006, Harvey released “Don’t Trip… He Ain’t Through With Me Yet,” a family-friendly DVD, and “Still Trippin,” for fans more used to his original, raucous, tell-it-like-it-is style of comedy.
