Aaron Carter In The Fantasticks

Beginning yesterday, The Off Broadway Alliance will again sponsor 20at20, the bi-annual celebration of Off Broadway. The popular promotion makes $20 tickets for 35 Off Broadway plays and musicals available to theatre-goers twenty minutes prior to curtain from January 18th through February 6th, 2012. Now in its 6th year, 20at20 has become one of New York’s most eagerly-awaited entertainment events for budget-conscious theatre-goers.

Peter Breger, Chairman of the non-profit Off Broadway Alliance said: “We are thrilled to once again offer $20 tickets to many of New York’s most popular Off Broadway shows. Just show up twenty minutes before curtain to purchase available $20 tickets at the box office. Here’s your chance to catch up with shows you may have missed, get a sneak peek at the newest hits, or revisit a favorite show – all for only $20.” For a complete list of participating shows and venues, visit

As Off Broadway has performances to fit everyone’s schedule, you can see more than one play or musical in a day. On a typical Saturday, for example, you can see Gazillion Bubble Show at 11 AM, The Fantasticks at 2 PM, Miss Abigail’s Guide to Dating, Mating, & Marriage! at 5 PM, Million Dollar Quartet at 8 PM and SILENCE! The Musical at 10:30 PM. Where else can you see five shows in a day, for less than the price of one Broadway ticket? And Off Broadway is where you might see the next A Chorus Line, Doubt, In the Heights, Proof or Spring Awakening – before the prices go “uptown” – and enjoy these shows in the intimate environment that can only be found Off-Broadway.

This year, if you see 7 Off Broadway shows during 20at20 you can enjoy a FREE DINNER on us! See any 7 of the participating 20at20 shows between January 18th and February 6th and receive a voucher for a free dinner for 2 at an area restaurant. Just mail your original ticket stubs (no photocopies accepted) to: 20at20 Dinner Special, 250 West 49th Street, Suite 301, NY, NY 10019. All entries must be postmarked by February 7th to be valid. Please include your name, phone, email, and mailing address.

20at20 is presented by The Off Broadway Alliance (OBA), a non-profit corporation organized by theater professionals dedicated to supporting, promoting and encouraging the production of Off Broadway theater and to making live theater increasingly accessible to new and diverse audiences. The Alliance holds monthly meetings and membership is open to everyone in the Off-Broadway theater community. Among its initiatives, The Off Broadway Alliance sponsors a free Seminar Series focusing on the culture, business and history of Off Broadway featuring major players from the Off Broadway scene. In 2009, OBA released the first ever Off Broadway Economic Impact Report, which detailed Off Broadway's $461 million annual impact on the economy of the City of New York.
