A New York Fête At The Four Seasons Restaurant

Larry Herbert, founder of the authority on color, Pantone®, and his socialite wife Michele Herbert hosted a glamorous party at the Four Seasons Restaurant last week with close friends and a fabulous performance by a group of veteran Rockettes. Michele’s famed reputation for her parties preceded her as the guest list was—as always—notable, including Larry, Michele, and son Loren Herbert, as well as, Donna and Rick Soloway, Ronald Newman and Adrienne Arpel, Lisa and Victoria Herbert, Jonathan and Somers Farkas, Peter Cervinka and Denise Rich, Chele Chiavacci and Chris Salyer, Letizia Vanni, Jana Bullock, Thomas LeClercq, Fawaz Gruosi, Julian Niccolini, Monica Bacardi, Lucia Wong Gordon, Lisa Tchenguiz, Brenda von Schweickhardt, Rick Friedberg, Nikki Haskell, R. Couri Hay and Bonnie Evans.
Larry Herbert—former chairman and CEO of Pantone®, the world’s premier color standards company and color authority—set the standards for communication of color as the creative force behind the development of color systems in a number of industries: printing, publishing, packaging, graphic arts, paint, plastics, coatings, computer, film, video, textiles, and fashion. Larry’s life and work are explored in the book, The King of Color, written by Larry along with Linda Mead.
Larry’s wife Michele, the ever-stylish New York and Palm Beach socialite, has a knack for throwing unforgettable events, from cocktail soirées in New York City, to extravagant galas in Palm Beach, to chic yacht parties in Cannes and St. Tropez. While many know how to throw glitzy A-list parties, Michele takes it up a notch. When her husband Larry turned 80, she planned an elaborate weekend-long Palm Beach event featuring Pattie Labelle and dancers from the popular television show Dancing with the Stars. Michele’s abilities for bringing people together and networking make her a staple in the New York Society scene, as her true passion for her family, friends, and the causes she supports stands her apart from the crowd.
Today, Pantone® oversees its multinational company from an 80,000 square foot facility in New Jersey with branches around the globe, including several locations in Europe and Asia. After he sold Pantone®, Larry’s daughter and executive vice president of Pantone®, Lisa Herbert, took his life’s work to the next level by building the brand’s presence through an exciting new endeavor, opening the doors to The Pantone Hotel™. The Pantone Hotel™ invites guest to experience the city of Brussels through a lens of color and a spectrum of comforts. Designed by Michel Penneman and Oliver Hannaert, the hotel showcases the colors of emotion with a distinctive hue in each guestroom. Perfect for the cosmopolitan adventurer or the corporate businessman, the hotel of colors will awaken the senses to an array of delights and playful surprises. Pantone® is also currently working with other companies, brands, and fashion labels to create unique, trademarked colors with which they can enhance their products and marketability.
