TAXI STAR JEFF CONAWAY DIES AT AGE SIXTY

Television star Jeff Conaway has died at 60. The former Taxi star and also a resident on "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew," died on Friday.

Conaway had been in a medically induced coma before doctors took him off life support on Friday. The coma was the direct result of pneumonia and his unconscious arrival to Encino Medical Center on May 10th because of "too many prescribed drugs," his sister Carla Shreve said.


Jeff Conaway dies at 60"Jeff was taken off life support [Thursday] afternoon," his manager, Phil Brock, told People. "His family chose to take him off of life support based on advice from physicians. They thought for several days that the situation was hopeless."

Conaway died at 10:30 a.m. and his sisters, nieces and nephews were with him, he added.
