Having opened to a sold out audience last Friday night, New Wimbledon Theatre is delighted to announce a forthcoming Hollywood addition to this year’s swashbuckling pantomime Peter Pan. Following in the footsteps of fellow American David Hasselhoff, Jerry Springer will play the role of Captain Hook at selected performances throughout January 2011 opposite the inimitable Louie Spence who stars as the Cabin Boy, Roger.

The British-born American television presenter has enjoyed a long and successful television and film career on both sides of the Atlantic including his notorious chat show ‘The Jerry Springer Show’, ‘America’s Got Talent’ and ‘Dancing with the Stars’ plus UK programs including ‘Have I Got News For You’, ‘The Friday Night Project’ and ‘This Morning’. No stranger to the stage, Jerry also starred as Billy Flynn in the London production of ‘Chicago’ last year.

Jerry Springer said: “Being born in Britain I’m very familiar with the age-old tradition of pantomime and I’m honoured to have been asked by the producers First Family Entertainment to star as Captain Hook and follow in the footsteps of my friend David Hasselhoff. David and I have both starred on stage in London as Billy Flynn in Chicago so I’m glad to see I’m still hot on his heels in the casting stakes”.

Also joining the cast for three performances in December is the American actor and singer Jeremy Jackson who will also star as Captain Hook on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December. Jeremy is best known for his role as Hobie Buchannon in ‘Baywatch’, a role he played for eight years alongside his on-screen father Mitch, played by David Hasselhoff.

Peter Pan opened at New Wimbledon Theatre on Friday 10 December 2010 and has already enthralled and delighted audiences with its mix of music, comedy, stunning scenery and special effects. With tickets going fast, book now to ensure you don’t miss the magic of Neverland at New Wimbledon Theatre this Christmas.
