Our Beautiful Dune Point Room

We are on vacation out in beautiful Cherry Grove. One again we are staying at Dune Point, our favorite Inn on this historic island. We discovered this gem after a stay at the Grove Hotel that we were just not too happy about. And it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened, because we discovered The Dune Point and best of all, we discovered Petra and Richard, the best hosts ever. Everything you need is in the room. The kitchens have everything, more than my kitchen in Times Square has. Large refrigerators, plates, silverware. You name it, the rooms have it. The secret to a great stay on Fire Island, that won't break the bank is to bring as much food as you can and to stay at a friendly place like Dune Point. You need a second mortgage to shop at The Grove Market. The prices there are just so unfair. Two great places to hang out and have a few drinks or dinner are Island Breeze, where you mention Dune Point and you get a free drink with dinner. Our all time favorite is Cherry's, where the drinks are great and the famed Johnny Pool tends bar. Johnny is a legend in the gay community. His stories are always exciting and entertaining. So stop by there and say hello. Summer has not ended yet in Cherry Grove. The Dune Point is open till October 23rd and you can get great off season prices. Or make a reservation for next season.
