Chau-Giang Thi Nguyen (Cho-San) just told me that she and Brian Grazer are off to her home town Hanoi and a few other places for a whirlwind vacation. This busy Hollywood couple can use some R & R. Chau-Giang is a concert pianist and girlfriend of Academy Award winning producer Brian Grazer. She woo 'ed an elite crowd of 100 guests on June 14th as she performed her new piano compositions at Lincoln Center's Kaplan Hall. Chau-Giang took us on a beautiful musical journey as she performed a song she wrote for Allan Beeber, a friend of many audience members who recently passed away. Chau-Giang's talent as well as her humbleness were quite becoming. She looked like a princess in the stunning Valentino gown she chose to wear for her performance. When Chau-Giang saw her good friend David Foster in the audience she invited him to share the stage with her. This was a real treat for all of us. Foster accepted, calling Chau-Giang his 'musical sister' and stepped onto the stage. He complemented her, saying, that one of the songs she'd performed was perfect for a movie. We went from tears over Allen to laughter as Foster belted out tune after tune from his musical collection of 26 Grammy's, joking about which hit paid for items his ex-wives wanted in each of his 3 divorces. He had the crowd in stitches. It's a good thing he won 26 Grammy's, we all know how expensive 1 divorce can be, let alone 3. It's good that he's maintaining a sense of humor. The evening was hosted by Brian Grazer, Barry E. Cohen and H.E. Le Luong Minh (Vietnamese Ambassador to the US). Unfortunately, Grazer came down with the flu and had to stay in LA. His absence was definitely felt. We were all sad to learn that he was under the weather but knew he was there in spirit for his lovely girlfriend. It was nice to see everyone. I enjoyed talking with Richard Johnson and his lovely wife Sessa as I am a big fan of the NY Post's Page 6 and love his light-hearted style of writing. Some of the A-listers in the crowd were Vera Wang, Bill Diggins, Philippe and Debbie Dauman (Viacom), Robert LoCascio, Howard Rowen, Richard Johnson and Sessa, Marian Javits, John Lattanzio, June Haynes from Valentino, Vivi Nevo, Arthur Becker, Henry Buhl, Aryel Bourkoff, Barry Klarberg, Paola and Arni Rosenshein, Barry Tucker, Lucia Hwong-Gordon, Errol Rappaport and many more. In fact, everyone in the room was a VIP. Chau-Giang's music is currently being performed at the Hanoi Opera House by the National Orchestra of Vietnam. Her next performance will be at the Opera House as a solo with the orchestra this October. Chau-Giang said that she is writing music for the Debbie Allen Dance Academy that will be performed at Royce Hall, Los Angeles in December. She has an upcoming art show at an undisclosed NYC art gallery that will showcase portraits she painted of her favorite composers. Chau-Giang is definitely keeping busy. Keep up the good work Chau-Giang (Cho-San) and remember to relax in Hanoi with Brian and your family.
