SOUTHAMPTON HOSPITAL PRESIDENTS FETE
A Rousing Ole! for Southampton Hospital Presidents Committee Reception

We went South O’ the Highway for a fete with a South of the Border flair. Bill Finneran opened up his lovely Gin Lane home “La Casitas” for The Southampton Hospital’s Presidents Committee Reception to thank the generous supporters of this year’s 52nd Annual Summer Party, “An Enchanted Evening” on August 7. Reverend Peter Larsen and his wife Nancy joined Bill in greeting his guests on the veranda overlooking his beautifully landscaped property. A gaily clad Mariachi band held court on the sprawling lawn and transported everyone back to old Mexico.
A delightful wait staff offered a tempting array of original hors d’oeuvres from renowned caterer Gloria Morch. Since opening in 1984, Gloria’s Fine Foods & Catering has offered some of the finest, freshest dishes Eastern Long Island has ever seen. Gloria’s has long been a favorite with the Southampton summer colony set and the Palm Beach crowd.
Offered up were delicate slice of crispy eggplant topped with fresh mozzarella & a tiny halved tomato – a new, lighter twist on the traditional eggplant Parmigiana; baby corn cakes with mango salsa; mini new potatoes with crème fraiche drenched with caviar an more tasty treats.
Robert Chaloner, president and CEO of The Hospital welcomed guests and introduced veteran Summer Party Chair Jean Remmel FitzSimmons who launched The Jean Remmel FitzSimmons Society created to honor and recognize friends who include the hospital in their estate plans. Ms. FitzSimmons thanked the longtime supporters and warmly introduced this year’s Chair Jean Shafiroff whom everyone agrees is doing a marvelous job in bringing in support for Southampton Hospital. As always, Mrs. Shafiroff spoke passionately about the importance of The Hospital to everyone be they summer visitors or year-round residents. As always, she graciously acknowledged the generous of old – and new friends – The Hospital
Enjoying the lovely evening and the delightful strains of the Mariachi musicians were Martin Shafiroff, Dr. Martin & Nancy Stone, Robert Lyster & Cassandra Seidenfeld Lyster, Myra & Frank Weiser, Stewart Lane & Bonnie Comley , Lisa & Rome Arnold, Christopher Arnold, Steve Tanger, Margo & John Catsimatidis, Charles & Diane Holmes, Gregory D’Elia, Christl & Ken Meszcat and scores more of Southampton Hospital’s most ardent supporters and tireless fundraisers.
