“An Evening with Erik Kabik” on Monday, May 17th at Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas will be the introductory event in a series of monthly showcases, highlighting a different artist, photographer or performer. As most of our readers know, Eric Kabik is one of our favorite photographers whose photos grace Times Square Gossip. The events will be hosted in Mandarin Bar and provide guests with an intimate experience and personalized access to the talented individuals that live and work in Las Vegas. The showcase will take place on the third Monday of every month and is an enhancement to the existing Mandarin Mondays industry events. The Las Vegas-based photographer, Erik Kabik (www.erikkabik.com), has been photographing some of music’s top names for the past 20 years. Inspired by the late iconic rock photographer, Jim Marshall, Kabik turned his love of music and photography into his profession. Kabik received his break in the industry after longtime Grateful Dead publicist, Dennis McNally, granted him access to photograph a Dead show from the “pit” at Oakland Coliseum in 1990. Kabik will be displaying a broad selection of the musicians he’s photographed during the past 20 years including The Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, Dave Matthews, Carlos Santana, Jay-Z, Madonna and Gwen Stefani. Special guest DJ Shoe will provide music for the evening. This is one event not to be missed!
