Bruce Blakeman

Bruce Blakeman today announced the endorsement of Vincent Reda, First Vice Chairman of the New York Republican State Committee and Chairman of the Rockland County Republican Committee.

Chairman Reda said, "Bruce Blakeman clearly has the integrity, intellect, drive and professionalism to get our state and nation back on track and he will restore the public's trust in their elected officials."

"Bruce is a 'hawk' when it comes to national defense, and a fiscal conservative in dealing with budget matters. Considering the recent terrorist attack in Times Square in which a car packed with explosives could have killed or maimed thousands of New Yorkers, and the huge spending binge that President Obama and Senator Gillibrand continues to ram down the throats of our taxpayers, Bruce Blakeman has the background and experience to protect our state and nation from future terrorist attacks and get our nation's checkbook back on sound financial footing," he continued.

"Bruce has what it takes to beat Kirsten Gillibrand, and that's why I am endorsing his candidacy for U.S. Senate," Reda said.

Bruce Blakeman said, "Vinnie's endorsement of my campaign reaffirms that my platform of 'less government, more freedom' is resonating in all parts of the state and I am honored to receive his endorsement for U.S. Senate."

"My campaign has been a grassroots effort and we're gaining steam every day. Instead of rubbing elbows with the rich and famous to secure big money contributions or kissing the rings of the special interests that control Washington, D.C., my campaign has been about talking to everyday New Yorkers who are sick and tired of the politics as usual crowd who are driving this nation into the ground financially, and compromising our nation's defense in the name of so-called "reform." It goes without saying that New Yorkers across our state are worried, frustrated, and angry about what is going on in Washington. People have lost faith in their leaders, not in our country and the ideals it stands for. I thank Vinnie for his endorsement and look forward to working with him to win this fall," Blakeman said.

Chairman Reda is the 19th County Republican Chair to endorse Blakeman, representing more than 30 percent of the total statewide weighted vote. Blakeman also has received the endorsement of four major Conservative Party County Chairmen.

HOW can you support this person? He is a perfect example of someone who is using the "old boy network" to try and get himself elected. He is involved in so many shady and sleazy deals in his past that he should not be allowed ANYWHERE NEAR elected office. Mr. Blakeman has NEVER held elected office--why should he go to the US Senate?

This is an excerpt from Planet Albany: http://bit.ly/9GEmUF

"But when an actual potential statewide candidate, Long Island Republican Bruce Blakeman (who aims to take on Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand) started speaking, he was so bad he drove me out of the room. One thundering cliche followed another, about "out of control spending" and how the Democrats say they'll just tax the rich but there aren't enough rich people to pay for their programs so they'll tax the middle class, too, and "We don't have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem." Every stale line was presented as if we'd never heard it before, and he was promising to "focus laser-like" on something or other when I made it through the door."

He is not the person we need to fix our budget problems. Shady mafia deals and a budget over run of $35 million dollars in Nassau County when he promised a balanced budget.

Really people, use your common sense-- Is this the type of person YOU want to represent YOU and OUR state in Washington?

I find it appalling Blakeman has received this many endorsements. Blakeman is more self-serving than the average politician. He will give a list of his positions, but cannot cite one single accomplishment!

Why so many endorsements? I guess paying off old friends is one way to do this, but in reality Blakeman doesnt deserve this. He's been a failed pol since day one, and a corrupt one at that. I don't want him near my tax money.

Blakeman is certainly using his shady "old boy" network to net himself endorsements. He doesn't know the honest way to go about doing anything. He makes countless promises and ends up making excuses to why he couldn't follow through. That "balanced budget" he promised in Nassau and didn't deliver?

What about his idea of a modest overrun in spending, amounting $35 million?

His education from California Western does not seem to be serving him very well in the political arena.
