Retired Philadelphia 76ers NBA Basketball legend Julius “Dr. J” Erving celebrated his 60th Birthday with an elaborate party held for him on Saturday at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City. Erving was joined by his wife, Dorys and children; including Julius Erving III and tennis pro Alexandra Stevenson for a night that was sports fan’s delight. The event was attended by former NBA legends, Bill Russell, George Tinsley, retired NBA players Charles Oakley, John Starks, Charles Smith, NFL’s Reggie Howard, Ricky Watters, Richard Dent, actor/comedian Anthony Anderson, former Women’s NBA player, Ann Myers-Drysdale, Olympic Gold Medalist Sanya Richards and hundreds of friends and family members who came to pay homage to one of the most spectacular players in basketball history. The stars walked the red carpet for photo opportunities with Dr. J, before heading into the Tiara Ballroom for a night that included a video montage of Erving’s life achievements, followed by a lavish dinner, birthday cake, music and dancing. All the attendees were asked to change their shoes to Converse sneakers, Erving's shoe of choice on the court.
