Yuri Foreman

Standing undefeated, Yuri Foreman has made history as the first ever Israeli boxer to claim a professional world title— partnering with trend-setting lifestyle brand CAVI, Yuri defeated Daniel Santos to take the WBA Junior Middleweight Title. Yuri won the twelve-round bout by a unanimous decision, 116-110, 117-109 and 117-109 in front of a nearly sold-out, cheering crowd. The twenty-nine-year-old, Belarus-born athlete began boxing at the young age of seven, before he and his family immigrated to Israel two years later. There, Yuri began competing as an amateur, fighting in the European style. Foreman became an amateur boxer, winning three national championships and compiled an impressive 75-5 record of wins. Foreman later moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1999, where he continues to reside today with his wife Leyla Leidecker, a Hungarian model and a boxer herself. Foreman soon began training at the famed Gleason’s Gym, combining European and American styles of boxing and sparring with other up-and-coming boxers. In 2001, Foreman was awarded the New York Golden Gloves; a year later, Foreman turned professional. Known for his patient boxing ability, Foreman often applies a highly effective safety-first style, followed up by tough defense, hard counterpunches and unparalleled conditioning and speed. The 5’11’’ boxing powerhouse entered the match-up undefeated in twenty-seven fights with eight knockouts. Leading up to this historic November bout at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, CAVI entered an ongoing sponsorship with Foreman. Joining forces for this first match, CAVI adorned Foreman with specially designed boxing trunks and robe, customized just for him with signature CAVI crest and the regal colors of gold and black, also partly inspired by his Eastern European heritage.
