LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST MARTHA STEWART

Homemaker and television icon Martha Stewart is involved in a legal battle with a former employee, who is alleging she was unfairly fired from Martha's company. Kiki Paris, an ex-sales manager at Martha Stewart's Body and Soul magazine, is claiming she was canned following executives demands that she work while on disability leave after a very severe car crash. According to New York federal court papers filed on Tuesday, the 53-year-old suffered head injuries and multiple fractures to her spine and left elbow after the May 2008 accident. Paris claims her bosses asked her to tell potential clients about her injuries in an effort to gain sympathy, and sell more ad space, before she was eventually fired. She is demanding compensation and her job back. A Martha Stewart spokesperson tells the New York Daily News, "We don't comment on active litigation."
