MICKEY ROURKE IN HURRY FOR THE ICE MAN

Tony LoBianco With Philip Carlo, Chuck Zito And Mickey Rourke

Revived actor Mickey Rourke is racing against time to film and release his new mafia movie 'The Ice Man', because the author of the book it’s been adapted from is dying. Rourke plays the real life assassin Richard Kuklinski in the film, based on Philip Carlo’s hit 2006 book. Carlo, who shares a producing credit with Rourke, suffers from Lou Gehrig’s disease, which is slowly destroying his nervous system, as you can see from the photo above. Rourke is desperate to finish filming before the writer succumbs to the horrible disease. He tells the New York Post, "(The biggest challenge is) getting it released in time. He doesn’t have much time." The Ice Man is scheduled to be shot in New York, New Jersey and Florida next Spring. The Philip Carlo Book Release Party for his new book The Butcher: Anatomy of a Mafia Psychopath, was held at the Locanda Verde Restaurant in the Greenwich Hotel the other night.
